On May 18, 2024, Beijing Forestry University (BFU) secured 5th place in men's, women's, and overall team rankings at the 63rd Capital University Sports Meeting held at Beijing Information Science and Technology University, competing against 1,600 athletes from 87 universities.

BFU Athletes claimed 2 silver and 4 bronze medals, breaking 2 university records three times and achieving the National First-Class Athlete Standard for 5 competitors across 7 events. The team's strong performance was further highlighted by 23 top-eight finishes.Coaches Chen Dong and Liu Liwei were honored as Outstanding Coaches, while Yang Hua and Zhang Zhi received Outstanding Referees awards,and BFU's commitment to sportsmanship was further recognized with a Sportsmanship Award.

Organized by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Bureau of Sports since 1955, the Capital University Sports Meeting is China's oldest and biggest provincial collegiate athletics event. BFU fielded 36 athletes across 30 disciplines, led by coaches including Chen Dong, who also served as competition director.
