CHENG, born in May 1975, served as deputy secretary and vice president of the Party Committee (General Party Branch) of the College of Resources and Environment (now known as College of Environmental Science & Engineering) of Beijing Forestry University, deputy director of the Admission and Employment Office, executive director of the National Engineering Laboratory of Tree Breeding, director of the Office of the Leading Group of Finance and Economics, chairman of Beijing Linda Property Management Co., Ltd, and director of the Party and Administrative Affairs Office. He was appointed to the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of Beijing Forestry University in July 2021.

Chiefly responsible for finance, state-owned assets, social services and integrated research, domestic cooperation and alumni affairs, as well as basic education, he directly supervises the Budget and Finance Office, the Integrated Service Center for Faculty and Students, the State-Owned Assets Management Office (Civil Air Defense Office), the Social Services and Integrated Research Department, the Domestic Cooperation and Alumni Affairs Office (Education Foundation), the Basic Education Development Center, and the General Office of the National Forestry and Grassland Germplasm Resources Facility Management and Operation Center. He is also the designated university liaison to the School of Information Science and Technology (School of Artificial Intelligence), the School of Ecology and Nature Conservation, and the College of National Park.
