On November 15, the School of Foreign Languages held a training meeting on the “Integrated Platform for Intelligent Multilingual Teaching and Research Database” , and invited Dr. Li Xiaoqian from Shanghai International Studies University to conduct online training for all faculties of the School. The Vice Dean of scientific research of the School presided over the meeting.

Li Xiaoqian introduced the application of the platform in translation, vocabulary and discourse teaching through specific cases, as well as the functions of word clusters, collocations, and index rows in scientific research. Aside from specific searching results, the platform could also achieve the intelligent and visual presentation of word frequencies and collocations, providing convenience for teachers and students in translation practice and language research.

The “Integrated Platform for Intelligent Multilingual Teaching and Research Database” from the Corpus Research Institute of Shanghai International Studies University consists of two modules: A multilingual database comprehensive platform on "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" and a customized language data analysis and application platform, which helps to realize the datamation, visualization and intellectualization of foreign language teaching and research.

It is reported that in order to further improve the level of foreign language teaching and scientific research intelligence, since May this year, the School of Foreign Languages has initiated the construction of a comprehensive platform for multilingual database . At present, the system has been deployed and launched on the campus network. The School will further promote the utilization of the platform, leverage its technological advantages in teaching and research, and promote the talent cultivation and scientific research of the School.
