BFU holds Spring Festival Gathering for students staying on campus

As the New Year approached, Beijing Forestry University (BFU) arranged a get-together for students remaining on campus throughout the holiday duration.Vice President Li Xiong, along with representatives from the Student Affairs Office, Security Department, and academic schools, convened with students to exchange holiday greetings and discuss winter break arrangements.

Li extended festive wishes to attendees and expressed gratitude to staff members who remained on duty during the holiday. He encouraged students to prioritize safety, maintain academic discipline, and practice gratitude while balancing rest and studies.

Leader and counsellor from the School of Information Science and Technology and the School of Economics and Management outlined winter break support measures. Meanwhile, three student representatives shared their holiday plans and expressed their gratitude to the university for providing convenient living conditions during the vacation.

The university distributed "Sunshine New Year Gift Packages" to to students facing financial challenges.These packages included zodiac-themed plush toys, books, red envelopes, and tickets to the Peking Opera "Judge Bao" at the Mei Lanfang Grand Theater. In return, the students presented the faculty with handwritten Spring Festival couplets, paper-cut artworks, and traditional Tibetan khata scarves as tokens of goodwill.

This year, BFU launched an innovative "1+2+5" support program for on-campus students:

● 1 universal benefit: Complimentary New Year’s Eve dinner vouchers for all students;

● 2 targeted assists: Special aid packages and priority access to resources for those in need;

● 5 tailored initiatives: Featuring over 30 campus work opportunities benefiting more than 80 students, real-time support channels via WeChat groups, dormitory visits and gatherings hosted by faculty members, cultural activities (such as calligraphy, paper-cutting, and festive decorations), and sports events like orienteering competitions.

The program aims to ensure a safe, culturally enriching, and meaningful Spring Festival for students staying on campus.
