BFU prioritizes on-campus student well-being during the New Year

Recently, Sun Xinli, Vice-Chairman of University Council, made a visit to student dormitory to comfort students residing on campus during the New Year celebrations.

In a recent series of visits, Sun Xinli toured the residential halls of various academic divisions including the College of Forestry, the College of Material Science and Technology, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Grassland Science. During these visits, she engaged in dialogue with the students, distributing goodie bags in celebration of the Year of the Dragon as tokens of goodwill, and extended her heartfelt new year greetings to the student body. She enquired about the well-being of the students and emphasized the importance of maintaining familial connections while residing on campus, simultaneously exhorting them to make productive use of the winter vacation period by valuing their time effectively.

On the eve of the Spring Festival, BFU carried out a series of activities aimed at fostering a sense of familial warmth among students. A total of more than 30 on-campus work-study positions have been set up at the university and college levels, accommodating more than 80 students, thus offering viable options for those electing to remain on campus during the New Year period while simultaneously nurturing an entrepreneurial ethos of self-reliance.


To address student needs holistically, feedback mechanisms were implemented, ensuring that students felt supported and companioned.  A holiday psychological assistance hotline was  initiated by the Student Mental Health Education Center to provide psychological support for students. Furthermore, all colleges engaged both online or offline  channels to cater to the academic and life necessities of students staying on campus.


School leaders and faculty members undertook warm visits to dormitory and laboratory , partook in diverse interactions such as festive tea gatherings, to convey heartfelt care and well-wishes to students. In a nod to cultural preservation, BFU arranged a Spring Festival garden party, featuring traditional dragon and lion dances, cultural craft workshops, and garden tours in Han Chinese attire, allowing participants to immerse themselves in New Year customs. Additionally, a series of sports-related events were organized to promote physical well-being. Through enjoyable sports meets, badminton matches, chess tournaments, and other recreational activities, students enhanced their physical fitness, stimulated intellectual potential, and developed team spirit and collaborative skills.

In addition, BFU issued New Year's Eve dinner vouchers for each student who stay on campus, and prepared goodie bags of "Cultural Year of the Dragon" for students with financial difficulties, including zodiac dolls, books, red envelopes, dried fruit gift boxes and theater tickets to ensure that the students enjoy the festival.


It is reported that during the Spring Festival, BFU has create a warm and happy holiday atmosphere and a good learning and living environment, so that the on-cumpus student for the New Year can enjoy a warm festival and perceive the rich depth of cultural legacy.
