On September 27, Beijing Forestry University held BFU High-quality Development Conference with the theme of "Learning and implementing the Idea of Xijinping's Ecological Civilization, Contributing to the Construction of a Powerful Education Country". Shao Hong, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and Executive Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society; Shen Guofang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, former Vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former President of BFU; Sun Yao, member of the Party Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education; Tang Fanglin, member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration (National Park Administration); You Jun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Education Working Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee; Alumni of BFU, deputy director of the 13th CPPCC National Committee of Economy, deputy secretary of the Party Group Zhang Xiaolian, member of the Development Strategy Advisory Committee of BFU, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences Fu Bojie, and school leaders attended the conference.

The conference was also attended by leaders of relevant government units and reporters of renowned news media.

The conference opened with the solemn national anthem.

Sun Yao, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, extended warm congratulations on the successful holding of the BFU High-Quality Development Conference. He pointed out that BFU has always taken talent-training and China's green cause as important tasks since its establishment, and has made outstanding contributions to the building of a beautiful China.  He hoped that Beijing Forestry University will deepen the joint construction mechanism among the Ministry of Education, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, and Beijing City in accordance with the national strategic deployment, and solidly promote high-quality development.

Tang Fanglin, on behalf of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration(National Park Administration), delivered a speech. He pointed out that Beijing Forestry University has been taking the lead in ecological construction, including establishing China's first National park college, and undertaking the construction of the national forest and grass germplasm resources reserve. He hoped that Beijing Forestry University would shoulder the responsibility of the construction of a beautiful China and make greater contributions to the modernization of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.

On behalf of the Beijing Municipal Government, You Jun expressed congratulations on the convening of the Conference. He pointed out that Beijing Forestry University has always taken serving Beijing as its mission and actively undertaken a number of historic tasks since its establishment. He hoped that BFU will continue to focus on building a beautiful China, and fully serve the national strategy of coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region; adhere to the path of independent talent training, promote the high-quality educational development of Beijng through the high-quality development of BFU.

When presiding over the meeting, Wang Hongyuan, Chairman of University Council of BFU,  pointed out that over the past 70 years, Beijing Forestry University has always act in accordance with the needs of the Party and the country and be engaged in the great practice of ecological civilization construction. He stressed that at this potential stage, BFU is ushering in a historical opportunity. BFU should strive to be one of the top universities in China and build a first-class university with the development of ecological civilization, making greater contributions to the building of a powerful country and the great cause of national rejuvenation.

An Lizhe, President of BFU, delivered a speech. He reviewed the five historic leaps BFU has made since its founding in 1952. Over the past 70 years, BFU has made remarkable achievements in personnel training, national strategic science and technology platform system construction with forest and grass characteristics, research on terrestrial ecosystem, creation of forest and flower varieties, undertaking major national strategic tasks, social services, inheritance and innovation of ecological culture, etc. It has achieved a large number of achievements with 58 national science and technology awards as the core, which has played an important strategic supporting role in various periods of our country.

Lin Qiaoling, president of Beijing Green Garden Group, Co., Ltd, and Niu Shihui, professor of College of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology, spoke as representatives of alumni and representatives of young backbone faculties respectively.

Shen Guofang awarded the flag to the representatives of the University Study and Research Alliance of Xi Jinping's Thought on Ecological Civilization and the "Ecological civilization" propaganda alliance of university graduates.

Zhang Xiaolian, Fu Bojie, and Huang Yingfeng, Minister of the Social Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, Li Xuesong, Vice president of the China Great Wall Greening Promotion Association, and young student representatives, jointly launched the first Youth Green Technology Innovation Competition.

Young student representatives took an oath, showing their determination to achieve the modernization of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.

At the meeting, the video of BFU's blueprint of high-quality development was released. Looking into the future, BFU will continue to make great contributions to the jointly building of global ecological civilization and a beautiful China.

The conference came to a close with the song of "Sing for the Motherland".
