On October 21st, China Daily featured a comprehensive report on the Global Ecological Governance (Nansen) Conference with the title of "Global Ecological Governance (Nansen) Conference attracts Chinese, global experts".

With the theme of "Ecological Governance and Sustainable Development", The Global Ecological Governance (Nansen) Conference, co-organized by Beijing Forestry University, serves as a major international academic exchange platform which is crucial for boosting the university's research strength and global standing. The conference gathered hundreds of experts, academicians, and scholars from across the globe to collaborate on educational and scientific efforts in ecological governance, with the aim of promoting China's role in this field on the global stage.

According to the report, Beijing, by crafting an all-encompassing forest and garden city, presents the "Beijing Model", serving as a blueprint for megacities eager to achieve a harmonious blend of people, urban development, industry, green growth, and culture. Wang Hongyuan, Chairman of the University Council at Beijing Forestry University, stated that the university is deeply integrating with Fengtai District in terms of industry, education, research, and innovation, complementing each other's strengths. Together, they aim to establish a hub that attracts top talent, fosters green technology, cultivates ecological industries, and promotes international cooperation in ecological governance, setting to elevate Beijing's standing as a global leader in ecological civilization. The conference signifies the establishment of an advanced international platform for ecological exchange and cooperation, facilitated through the collaboration between the two parties.

At the conference, the "Nansen Initiative for Global Ecological Governance" was officially released, and the Flyway University Alliance was launched while the Initiative for International Big Science Program on Flyways was unveiled. These efforts are part of the goals of establishing international green corridors and enhance global biodiversity conservation, which demonstrates China’s proactive involvement and leadership in global ecological governance.As one of the sponsors of the conference, Beijing Forestry University has established partnerships with almost 70 international organizations, universities, and research institutions, including the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and EAAFP, actively training young leaders in global ecological governance and conservation.
