The 12th China College Student TV Festival, a joint effort by the China Association of Higher Education, China Education Television, and Weibo, was successfully held at Fuzhou University. It was here that Beijing Forestry University's official Weibo was recognized as the Most Contributive University Weibo of 2023. Furthermore, BFU's Zhang Wei, recognized as an outstanding new media mentor, was presented with the title of "Weibo's Exceptional New Media Instructor of 2023".

Serving as an important digital platform for projecting the university's identity, BFU's official Weibo concentrates on disseminating knowledge, delivering news updates, showcasing exemplary models, and sharing campus perspectives, among other aspects. Through columnized operations and topic curation, it engages with online trends, offers ideological guidance, presents the campus culture, and shares narratives of faculty and students, thereby propagating positive vibes.In 2023, BFU's official Weibo posted 1,906 articles with a total readership of 22.29 million, covering major events such as the university's high-quality development conference, the 71st anniversary celebration, exemplary models of the new semester, and graduation ceremonies, as well as hot topics of interest to teachers and students, continuously strengthening atmosphere creation and cultural nourishment. During the anniversary celebration, the official Weibo worked with over 40 sister institutions to send wishes for the 71st anniversary, with the related topics reaching a total readership of 1.58 million. Throughout the year, the account was pivotal in bringing BFU‘s major events to a wide audience through live streaming and interactive content, garnering 860,000 viewers and nearly 400,000 likes.

In recent years, the university has expanded its online influence in platforms including WeChat, Douyin, Bilibili and other new medias, embracing the strengths of both integrated and new media. By consistently engaging in storytelling, reason-giving, and experience-sharing, it has effectively conducted online ideological education, producing content that resonates well with its audience. This effort to spread the distinct voice and stories of BFU has played a crucial role in enhancing the university's reputation for excellence and growth.
