Recently, the International Workshop on Plant-Environment Interactions was jointly organized by BFU and Wiley Group. The workshop saw participation from leaders of the Office for International Relations and the College of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology at BFU, along with Philip Kisray, the Global Senior Vice President and President of Greater China at Wiley Group. The workshop was co-chaired by Professor Lin Jinxing from the College of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology at BFU and Professor Christine Foyer from the University of Birmingham, who are both editors-in-chief of the journal Plant, Cell & Environment (PCE).

In the presentation session, 12 experts and scholars from institutions such as the University of Milan (Italy), the University of Illinois (USA), Halle University (Germany), the University of Bayreuth (Germany), the University of York (UK), the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Botany of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, and Xiamen University, along with Dr. Jonathan Ingram and Dr. Lei Lei from Wiley Group, shared the latest advancements in plant science. The focus was on plants' adaptability, responses, and interaction mechanisms under different environmental conditions and how collaborative research can promote the sustainable development of plant growth and environmental protection.

The event was also broadcast online, drawing an audience of over ten thousand viewers, primarily researchers and students. The online participants actively engaged in the discussions and interactions, expressing their appreciation and gratitude for the insights and knowledge shared during the event.

At the conference, the College of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology highlighted its strengths in plant science education and research. As a co-organizer, the Wiley Group demonstrated its significant influence in scientific research and education. Additionally, the journal Plant, Cell & Environment (PCE) provided a prestigious platform for scholars to present their research findings and exchange academic perspectives.
