On September 27,  2023 International Desertification Prevention and Control Forum and the 10th anniversary of the “100 million Haloxel Project”were held in Beijng Forestry Univerisity. Experts, scholars, and public welfare activists from various fields gathered together to witness the 10-year achievements of the 100 million Haloxel project, and to discuss the next decade development plans. Liu Dongsheng, President of China Society of Sand Control and Sand Industry and former Deputy Director of National Forestry and Grassland Administration, Cheng Wu, Vice President of BFU, and Zhang Li, Vice president of Alxa SEE Ecological Association and Vice President of SEE Foundation, delivered speeches respectively. 

Cheng Wu reviewed the history of BFU's participation in "100 million Haloxers project" in the past decade. He stressed that the School of Nature Conservation and the School of Soil and Water Conservation of Beijing Forestry University have carried out various kinds of cooperation based on the project and gained a series of achievements through combining theoretic research with public welfare practice. He pointed out that we should take this forum as an important opportunity to gather more wisdom and strength of desertification prevention and control, calling more people to work together to promote global environmental governance and protection.

Leaders and experts made speeches and conducted hot discussions in the forum.

The forum was guided by Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Alxa League, and China Society of Sand Control and Sand Industry, and was co-hosted by Society of Entrepreneurs and Ecology (SEE Foundation), the School of Nature Conservation (College of National Park), and College of Soil and Water Conservation of BFU.
