As we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, BFU unveiled a National Day floral arrangement "Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains" at the main south entrance. This display, which prominently features the city's official flowers and is an exclusive creation of BFU, has garnered significant interest from both faculty and students.

For the anniversary celebration, the floral arrangement features a symmetrical design that suits the grandeur of the main gate. It consists of two main elements: "Lucid Waters" created with a carpet of chrysanthemums (Chrysanthemum × morifolium), evoking the university's rich history, interspersed with summer cypress (Bassia scoparia) and asparagus plants (Asparagus spp.) to introduce variations. Cypress family plants (Chamaecyparis) and star magnolia (Yulania stellata) on each side create the impression of "Lush Mountains", complementing each other, with tree structured roses (Rosa spp.) adding sense of depth. The flower bed is further enhanced with "dual city flowers", chrysanthemums and roses, including BFU's proprietary "Jinglin" chrysanthemum series by Professor Sun Ming’s team, the "Dongli" and "Jingqiu" series by Professors Huanghe and Dai Silan, and cold-resistant roses by Professor Yu Chao’s team.

The floral display was well-designed and placed by a collaboration between the General Support Department's Property Services Center and the School of Landscape Architecture. Faculty and students from the School of Landscape Architecture spent a lot of time and effort in every detail, from refining each draft design to selecting the best plant varieties, and conducted thorough inspections to ensure the quality of the plants selected. Their meticulous attention to every aspect of the display's design and placement, coupled with the dedicated work of the Property Services Center's landscaping staff, resulted in a stunning floral arrangement. This display not only enhanced the festive atmosphere on campus but also showcased the professional dedication and creative prowess of the BFU.

The Property Services Center embeds sustainability in their approach, ensuring that once the primary floral materials are utilized, they are preserved in a greenhouse. Next spring, these plants will be strategically placed and cultivated in open spaces across the campus, adapting to suitable local conditions.

Going forward, the General Support Department will persist in its commitment to "educating through service and the environment". Collaborating closely with BFU faculty and students, the department is dedicated to nurturing a beautiful campus through service-inspired examples and activity-focused initiatives. The aim is to bolster educational impact and improve overall educational results, ultimately crafting a harmonious, forward-thinking, and energetic environment for the entire BFU community.
