On June 18, Quacquarelli Symonds(QS) released its 2027 World University Rankings. Beijing Forestry University(BFU) ranked 731–740 globally and 52nd among mainland Chinese institutions, marking a significant rise from previous years. In the 2026 QS subject rankings, two of the university's disciplines entered the global top 500, with "Agriculture and Forestry" placed 79th worldwide.

BFU's Forestry and Landscape Architecture have been consecutively recognized as national "Double First-Class" disciplines, while Urban-Rural Human Settlement Ecology and Ecological Restoration Engineering are designated as Beijing high-precision disciplines. The university has actively developed emerging fields such as ecological civilization studies, national park studies, and carbon science and engineering. In the latest ESI rankings,9 BFU disciplines rank among the global top 1%, with Plant and Animal Science entering the top 1‰. Additionally, disciplines including Soil and Water Conservation, Forestry Engineering, and Grassland Science continue to perform strongly in the ShanghaiRankings.
The 2027 QS rankings covers more than 1,500 universities across 106 countries and regions. Among the 85 mainland Chinese institutions ranked, 52 moved up and 13 made their debut.
