On August 20, Beijing Forestry University held a ceremony at its Xiong'an New Area campus to mark the full topping out of Phase I construction and the National Facility Preservation Bank for Forestry and Grassland Germplasm Resources(Xiongan), while also launching a final push toward the start of academic operations. With the last concrete pour, BFU became the first among the four universities initially to start a new campus in Xiong'an to reach this milestone.

The Phase I campus and the germplasm facility total 828,800 square meters across 58 buildings. This achievement represents a concrete step in BFU's contribution to the national strategy of coordinated development for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and marks a critical phase in the university's new "One University, Two Campuses and One Park" development framework. 

Wang Tao, Chairman of University Council, BFU, noted that the topping out signals the university's entry into the final sprint toward opening its doors. He emphasized the target of welcoming students in September 2027, and called for balancing speed with quality, construction with academic planning, and immediate needs with long-term development, to deliver "Xiongan quality" that stands the test of time. 

Representatives from the main contractors pledged to maintain high standards in remaining work to ensure timely, quality completion of the project. 

Following the ceremony, Wang Tao toured the site, inspecting the library, undergraduate and doctoral dormitories, faculty apartments, and the germplasm facility's cold storage, where he reviewed construction progress and upcoming plans.
